Minicarm.com has been named the exclusive U.S. distributor for the Fluoroscan Insight FD mini C-arm, following Hologic Inc.’s decision to scale back its commercial involvement with the product line.
The Hauppauge, New York-based company will offer direct sales and support for the remaining U.S. inventory of the system, according to a Sept. 29 announcement. Minicarm.com will also provide training and educational services to clinicians and staff.
The Fluoroscan Insight FD is a compact fluoroscopic imaging system designed primarily for orthopedic and extremity procedures. It has been used in outpatient and surgical settings for real-time imaging, particularly in hand, wrist, foot, and ankle applications.

"We are thrilled to work closely with Hologic to make sure their Fluoroscan Insight FD systems are available to U.S. customers at this pivotal time," said Joshua Bacon, vice president at Minicarm.com.
Founded by Orthoscan technical founder Christopher Bacon, Minicarm.com specializes in sales, service, and support of mini C-arm systems and accessories. The company’s focus on diagnostic imaging for musculoskeletal care positions it to serve healthcare providers looking to purchase or upgrade mini C-arm technology.
Hologic, based in Marlborough, Massachusetts, is retaining its focus on other segments of its imaging and diagnostic business. The company has not indicated plans to resume direct sales of the Fluoroscan line.
Customers seeking replacements for older Fluoroscan Insight models or looking for more information on the current FD system are advised to contact Minicarm.com directly. The company has stated it will maintain customer support nationwide.
Hologic is publicly traded on the Nasdaq under the ticker HOLX.
