AdventHealth Parker has announced plans for a $300 million expansion to address growing demand in the southeast Denver, Colorado metro area.
The project, which includes a new 186,000-square-foot patient tower, will add capacity and modernize the hospital’s infrastructure. Currently a 179-bed facility, AdventHealth Parker has served the community for nearly 21 years.
The expansion will feature several upgrades, including:
- Four new operating rooms, with space for two more to be added later
- 16 pre- and postoperative rooms
- 60 new medical-surgical beds
- Two cardiac catheterization labs
- Two interventional radiology labs
- A new sterile processing department
The fifth, sixth, and seventh floors of the tower will be shelled for future patient bed expansions. Construction is set to begin in February 2025, with plans to open the facility to patients by February 2027.
Population growth has driven the need for the expansion. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Parker’s population has increased by 72% since the hospital opened in 2004 and is expected to grow by an additional 8% by the time the new tower is complete.
“We are grateful for the opportunity to support our community by providing outstanding and accessible care, close to home," said AdventHealth Parker CEO Michael Goebel. "This strategic investment will not only elevate our services but ensure we are meeting the healthcare needs of our patients for years to come."
The hospital is already Parker’s largest employer, with more than 1,100 employees. The expansion is expected to create at least 100 new jobs.
