Carilion Clinic is poised to expand cardiovascular care services at its not-yet-open Cardiovascular Institute in Virginia, equipping 11 specialized interventional suites with Philips advanced cardiovascular care solutions.

The planned facility, located within the health system's new Crystal Spring Tower, will consolidate Carilion’s cardiovascular services, including inpatient care, cardiovascular operating rooms, catheterization labs, and electrophysiology labs.

The partnership will see the integration of the Philips Azurion Image-Guided Therapy System, EPIQ CVx cardiology ultrasound system, and IntraSight with SyncVision, among other tools. Additionally, ongoing clinical education and a service program are part of the initiative, helping Carilion’s medical staff remain at the forefront of cardiovascular care advancements.

Marguerite Underwood, vice president for the Cardiovascular Institute, emphasized the importance of the partnership. "Working with Philips ensures that we will be able to set the standard in cardiovascular care, not only today, but well into the future," she stated.

Philips has recently entered similar equipment and service agreements with several other hospitals and health systems, including Isala Hospital, Bon Secours Mercy Health, Nicklaus Children's Health System, and Radboud University Medical Center.
