Samsung’s U.S. subsidiary NeuroLogica Corp. will distribute digital radiography and ultrasound systems under a new brand, Boston Imaging.
The brand will be the U.S. headquarters for sales, marketing and distribution of Samsung’s DR and US business. The change is expected to allow Samsung to focus more on these core businesses. “As we continue gaining market leadership, this change will also allow Boston Imaging to have a more dedicated focus for growing the business,” said David Legg, vice president of ultrasound and digital radiography at Boston Imaging, in a statement.
Among the solutions that will come under Boston Imaging are the V8 Ultrasound system and AI solutions, as well as the Auto Lung Nodule Detection tool, which the company received FDA clearance for in the fall
. The solution uses AI to detect pulmonary nodules between 10 and 30 mm in size and is designed to aid physicians in reviewing PA chest radiographs in adults. It is part of S-Station, an operation software installed on Samsung Digital X-ray imaging scanners.
The Boston Imaging team will concentrate on developing customer-centric imaging solutions in DR and US. The brand will be run as a Doing Business As (DBA) entity.
The legal entity and name of the company will remain NeuroLogica Corp., which will maintain its normal business operations and operating structure.
Samsung’s mobile CT business will remain under NeuroLogica, which just released
the OmniTom Elite. Designed for high-quality point-of-care CT imaging, the solution can image patients at the bedside without having to transport them to a separate department. It is meant to reduce time for diagnosis and help initiate treatment faster.
