626 acquires California Radiographics
Third-party equipment service provider 626 Holdings is expanding in the west with the acquisition of California Radiographics Inc. (CRI).
Headquartered in Soquel, California, CRI services X-ray equipment from all major manufacturers for hospitals, medical imaging clinics, chiropractors, orthopedists and veterinarians in most of California. It provides technical support with parts identification and new and used equipment sales, service, installations and deinstallations. The modalities it supports include digital radiography, computed radiography, PACS, teleradiology gateways, DICOM conversions, diagnostic view stations, archives, CD burners, web servers, laser imagers and digitizers.
626 plans to double CRI’s business, as it previously did following its acquisitions of Walsh Imaging and ISS business. “For CRI this is a growth strategy. They are a limited modality, sales and service provider focused on X-Ray in Northern California. 626 is a multi-OEM, multi-modality service provider. We can bring a full imaging equipment portfolio to CRI so expansion with current customers is immediate, and our national accounts will provide speed to market geographic expansion to CRI,” Kevin Gill, CRO of 626, told HCB News.

Based in Florida, 626 was founded in 2014 by Philip Revien and Michael Fischer. With over 100 employees nationwide, the company services all imaging modalities and is ISO 13485:2016 certified.
With CRI, 626 will gain new OEM dealer relationships, an FSE base to service imaging equipment and more customer relationships. In business since 1977, CRI also brings over 40 years of experience. All employees at CRI will remain in their positions, as well the brand name. The logo for the company will be changed to align it as a 626 portfolio company.
626 previously acquired Walsh Imaging in 2017. Walsh also services all imaging modalities and is an OEM dealer for Konica Minolta, Del Medical and Fujifilm, among other major manufacturers. “CRI and Walsh Imaging also share OEM relationships in the X-Ray, mammography and ultrasound spaces, and there are cost and product availability synergies to be capitalized on there,” said Gill.
It also acquired ISS, a depot and on-site repair service provider, in 2019; and
PhiGEM in 2020, a deal which made it a parts supplier. That same year, it
purchased the CR and DR business of Innovatus Imaging.
Back in October, the company
made two more acquisitions of ICE, which specializes in compressors, cold heads, lines and helium; and Digitec Medical, a third-party, multi-OEM mammography solution provider of service, training and parts.
Financial details for the deal with CRI were not disclosed.
