Agfa's XERO Viewer
Health systems around the world today are finding it difficult to identify and distribute imaging data to clinicians in different departments. A solution to that may be Agfa HealthCare’s recently FDA-cleared XERO Viewer, which provides full fidelity mobile diagnostic viewing.

More than 500 viewers have already been installed around the world at both large regional health networks and individual hospitals. There have been over 50 integrations with health care enterprises’ EHRs.

Radiologists are producing massive amounts of reports and images and it’s imperative that they have a solution that makes all of the data accessible in digital format. “By allowing the regional centers to quickly and effectively access the information they need, it will support the enhanced diagnostic confidence and will save time for caregivers,” Dott. Robert Tarducci, health physics director of Azienda Ospedaliera di Perugia, Italy, said in a statement.

The viewer retrieves original-quality renditions of stored DICOM and non-DICOM DX, CT, MRI and ultrasound imaging data. All of the images are presented on a single browser-based viewer and anyone inside or outside of the hospital can access it.

The viewer has many search, filter and discovery functions and the clinicians and radiologists can make annotations and markups, change brightness and contrast and identify an area of interest and compare it with different studies.

The users can view ECGs in different layouts, change waveform size and amplitude and compare the data with previous ECGs. The viewer also features a patient-centric, interactive timeline that provides the users with a unified view of all of the patient’s images.

“Hospitals today face the challenge of simultaneously reducing the costs of health care and improving the delivery of patient care,” James Jay, vice president imaging IT solutions of Agfa, said in a statement. “The XERO Viewer helps to maximize the potential of the existing health care technology while giving clinicians, referring physicians and patients the image access they want and need.”
