Agfa HealthCare and Rad AI have announced a partnership aimed at addressing inefficiencies in radiology workflows and reducing burnout among radiologists.

The collaboration integrates Agfa’s Enterprise Imaging platform with Rad AI Reporting, leveraging FHIRcast standards and AI-driven solutions to improve interoperability and streamline radiology processes.

This partnership was showcased during the Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) Connectathon, where the two companies became the first to earn the IHE Connectathon Seal for successfully validating the Integrated Reporting Applications profile in radiology. By using open IHE standards, the integration aims to reduce manual data entry, such as inputting measurements and image references, thereby minimizing errors and saving time.

The companies also emphasized their commitment to future-proofing healthcare systems by adopting open standards. Josh Duncan, senior vice president at Rad AI, remarked that the collaboration ensures scalability and adaptability to meet evolving needs without the need for extensive software replacements.

AGFA HealthCare, based in Mortsel, Belgium, is a division of the Agfa-Gevaert Group, providing imaging data management solutions globally. California-based Rad AI specializes in generative AI solutions for radiology, including its flagship Rad AI Reporting platform and other tools designed to enhance efficiency and patient outcomes.
