IBA has acquired ORA Group, a Belgian radiochemistry firm, in a deal valued between €15 million and €20 million.

The move strengthens IBA’s position in the nuclear medicine market, particularly in radiopharmaceutical development and production technologies.

The Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium-based company said the acquisition will be financed through internal resources and existing credit facilities. It is expected to be immediately accretive to IBA’s revenue and EBITDA, though it will not affect the company’s financial guidance for 2025 or its midterm outlook.

ORA, which includes both Optimized Radiochemical Applications SRL and Out and Out Chemistry, is known for its automated PET radiopharmaceutical synthesizers used in producing sterile injectable PET drug products. Founder and CEO Vincent Tadino will stay on as chief technology officer.

“Joining forces with IBA opens exciting opportunities to scale our NEPTIS technology and accelerate innovation in radiochemistry,” said Tadino. “Together, we will continue to push the boundaries of PET and therapeutic radiochemistry, ensuring our customers have access to the most advanced and reliable solutions for radiopharmaceutical production.”

Charles Kumps, president of IBA RadioPharma Solutions, said the acquisition supports IBA’s aim to provide integrated solutions across the radiopharmaceutical supply chain. “ORA’s acquisition accelerates our mission to deliver integrated solutions from isotope production to patient-ready therapies, making advanced cancer treatments and diagnostics more accessible worldwide,” he said.

The acquisition adds to IBA’s recent efforts in nuclear medicine, including its cofounding of PanTera for actinium-225 production, collaboration with Framatome on astatine-211, and participation in the Accelerate.EU program.

IBA, listed on Euronext Brussels, employs around 2,100 people and operates globally in proton therapy, radiopharmaceuticals, industrial sterilization, and dosimetry.
