Annual salaries to academic faculty diagnostic radiologists in 2010 rose half a percent from the year before, according to a Medical Group Management Association report.
The median salary was $351,950, up 0.56 percent from 2009, at $350,000, the Englewood, Colo.-based group said this week.
Overall, faculty specialist physician salaries rose about 2.70 percent to reach a median $241,959 in 2010, up from $235,587 in 2009. The most torrid growth was seen in pulmonary medicine, at 7.38 percent, although the median salary, at $197,011, was substantially lower than a radiologist's.

According to the chart, the highest paid specialty was orthopedic surgery. 2010 salaries reached a median $409,345, up 2.25 percent from the year before.
