Carestream has launched two new digital radiography detectors, the Lux HD 35 and Lux HD 43, expanding its portfolio of wireless X-ray imaging hardware.
The Rochester, New York-based imaging company said the detectors are now available globally and are compatible with several systems in its DRX product line, including the DRX-Evolution Plus, DRX-Revolution Plus, DRX-Compass, DRX-RISE, DRX-1 System and DRX-Transportable System/Lite.
Both detectors use cesium iodide (CsI) technology and feature a glass-free design. According to Carestream, the detectors incorporate a 100-micron pixel pitch, which is intended to provide higher image resolution and support image magnification for viewing small anatomical structures.

The company said the devices were developed with a lightweight, ergonomic design aimed at improving handling and positioning during imaging procedures. Carestream also reported enhancements to detector durability and environmental protection ratings compared with previous generations.
Among the new features is a technology referred to as DEC for wireless operation. Carestream said the capability is designed to improve dose control efficiency and extend automatic exposure control functionality beyond traditional bucky-based examinations to include mobile imaging applications.
The detectors can be shared across compatible DRX systems through Carestream's X-Factor platform, allowing facilities to move the hardware between imaging units as needed. The devices also operate with the company's ImageView software platform, which includes Eclipse image processing technology and AI-enabled features.
Carestream announced the products during the China International Medical Equipment Fair in Shanghai.
The company said it plans to introduce a third detector, the Lux HD 2530, based on the same platform during the second half of 2026.
