May 27, 2026 - Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS), a leading Catholic health ministry with operations in Illinois and Wisconsin, announced today that Rachel Kraynak has been named System Director of Operational Advancement.
In this role, Kraynak will set objectives, develop plans, and direct and lead the Volunteer Services team, as well as provide oversight for the Telehealth program. This role will provide leadership and oversight of these areas while also delivering strategic and operational support to executive leadership in the execution of systemwide initiatives.
Kraynak has served as Associate Administrator at HSHS since July 2024, where she has offered high-level support in advancing the system’s strategic and operational objectives. She has provided systemwide leadership for Volunteer Services across HSHS’ 13 hospitals, led the Graduate Administrative Internship program, and collaborated with finance leadership in developing a comprehensive systemwide capital plan, among other accomplishments.

She first joined HSHS in July 2023 as an Administrative Fellow after serving as an Administrative Resident at UPMC St. Margaret in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and an Administrative Intern at James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute in Columbus, Ohio.
Kraynak has a Master of Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health in Pittsburgh, and a Bachelor of Science in business administration (international business) from The Ohio State University in Columbus.
