Clearwater, Florida will host the SNM Mid-Winter Educational Symposium, February 5-8, 2009. Joining SNM will be the American College of Nuclear Physicians (ACNP) and the American College of Nuclear Medicine (ACNM) to offer nuclear medicine professionals an educational opportunity to achieve approximately 31 credits.
Robert W. Atcher, Ph.D., M.B.A., president of SNM, contends the range and strength of the symposisa's content provides exceptional benefit. He said, "Our goal is to bring together the leading educators and researchers in the field to provide a rich learning experience for attendees who will have in-depth opportunities to learn and stay ahead of the curve in the burgeoning fields of nuclear medicine and molecular imaging."
This year the program will focus on the role of radiopharmaceuticals in targeting therapy, enabling precise timing and delivery of therapy by physicians and clinicians. Also on the agenda will be a discussion on advances in cardiovascular molecular imaging. Specifically, the program will evaluate how effectively molecular imaging tools are treating patient's heart disease.
The symposium also includes nearly 100 CT Case Review sessions under the supervision of a radiologist.
Exibitors can still apply, but SNM is limiting exhibiting companies to 24.
Following the four-day SNM conference, participants may attend a workshop to learn about the SNM Clinical Trials Network. Attendees will learn how the SNM Clinical Trials Network facilitates the drug development process using imaging biomarkers and diagnostic molecular imaging agents.
