Miami Beach, FL — June 29, 2026 — Last week, World Health Expo Miami (WHX Miami) brought together more than 13,000 attendees, 1,200 exhibitors, and healthcare stakeholders from more than 120 countries at the Miami Beach Convention Center for three days of healthcare innovation, business development, and industry collaboration.

Against a backdrop of global trade uncertainty, supply chain challenges, rapid technological change, and growing healthcare demand, WHX Miami provided a platform for industry leaders to build partnerships, explore emerging technologies, and discuss the future of healthcare delivery worldwide.

Part of Informa Markets' global World Health Expo network, WHX Miami is the largest healthcare exhibition in the Americas, connecting manufacturers, distributors, healthcare providers, investors, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across North America, Latin America, the Caribbean, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.

The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that welcomed healthcare leaders, innovators, exhibitors, and attendees from around the world to Miami Beach. Remarks were delivered by Mayor Steven Meiner of the City of Miami Beach; Freddie Peterson, General Manager of the Miami Beach Convention Center; Rolando Aedo, Chief Operating Officer of the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau; and Gil Alejo, Exhibition Director of WHX Miami.

"Healthcare organizations around the world are navigating a period of rapid change, from technological disruption and artificial intelligence to evolving trade dynamics and supply chain challenges," said Gil Alejo, Exhibition Director, WHX Miami. "What made this year's event so powerful was seeing leaders from across the healthcare ecosystem come together to share ideas, build partnerships, and identify solutions. WHX Miami continues to serve as a bridge connecting innovation, investment, and opportunity across the Americas and beyond."

One of the most anticipated moments of the event was the Xcelerate Startup Competition, which showcased emerging companies developing breakthrough solutions across biotechnology, digital health, diagnostics, artificial intelligence, and medical technology.

Warren D. Marcus of Wink Biotherapeutics was named the 2026 Xcelerate Champion after presenting his company's vision for advancing biotechnology and healthcare innovation. Selected from a highly competitive field of innovators, Marcus impressed a panel of healthcare leaders, investors, and industry experts on the Future X Stage. As this year's champion, Wink Biotherapeutics will receive a trip to WHX Dubai 2027, complimentary exhibition space at WHX Miami 2027, and participation in the Xcelerate Mentorship Program.
