June 15, 2026 - WellSpan Health announced that Wasif Jamal has joined the organization as senior vice president and chief information officer, effective today. Jamal brings more than 15 years of executive leadership experience driving large-scale digital, infrastructure, cybersecurity and organizational transformation across health care and global technology environments.
In his new role, Jamal will lead enterprise-wide information technology and analytics for WellSpan, overseeing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, application product strategy and enterprise analytics. His work will ensure technology and data-driven insights continue to support clinical excellence, operational efficiency and business transformation across the health system.

Prior to joining the health system, Jamal served as global chief technology officer at Providence Health in Renton, Washington, where he led enterprise-wide infrastructure, cloud, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity initiatives. In that role, he oversaw a team helping drive significant operational efficiencies, modernize core systems and strengthen the resilience and security of critical technology platforms.
Earlier in his career, Jamal held senior global technology leadership roles at Microsoft Corporation and General Electric, where he led large-scale infrastructure, security and enterprise transformation initiatives supporting mission-critical platforms worldwide.

Jamal holds a master’s degree in computer information systems from Gannon University and a bachelor’s degree in electrical telecommunications engineering from the National University of Science and Technology. He is Lean Six Sigma certified and has also completed advanced leadership and strategy training through Stanford University.
