TracInnovations has successfully integrated its markerless motion tracking technology with Siemens Healthineers' Access-I interface prototype, a development aimed at improving MR accuracy and efficiency by addressing patient motion in real time.
The collaboration involves incorporating TracInnovations' Tracoline system, which uses a sophisticated optical camera to track patient head movements without the need for physical markers, into Siemens Healthineers’ MAGNETOM MR systems. The companies are focusing on brain imaging.
This approach is expected to reduce the motion artifacts that can degrade image quality, minimizing the need for repeat scans and improving overall workflow efficiency. Traditional methods of managing patient motion, such as sedation, may also be reduced, offering a more comfortable experience for patients.

“We have worked closely with TracInnovations and Siemens Healthineers in our mission at BCH to reduce patient motion in pediatric MRI without using sedation," said professor Ellen Grant, clinical neuroradiologist at Boston Children’s Hospital. "The successful integration of Tracoline to Siemens Healthineers MR systems is an exciting jump forward and we can hopefully look forward to incorporating Tracoline to streamline our clinical neuro workflow.”
TracInnovations was founded in 2015 and is based in Copenhagen, Denmark.
