DeepScribe is collaborating with Ochsner Health to implement its ambient AI clinical documentation system across the health system's extensive network in an effort to streamline documentation processes.

DeepScribe’s AI technology converts patient interactions into complete and accurate notes in real time, providing valuable insights for clinicians. This integration is set to roll out across Ochsner Health's 46 hospitals and more than 370 health and urgent care centers, impacting the workflows of 4,700 physicians.

Dr. Jason Hill, Ochsner Health's innovation officer, noted the unprecedented positive feedback from clinicians. “In ten years of working on informatics projects for doctors, this is the first time I’ve received unsolicited videos from doctors telling me how great it is. That is unbelievable,” he said.

DeepScribe's HealAI model is designed to adapt to various medical specialties, offering over 50 customization options for personalized note-taking. This flexibility has already improved patient satisfaction, with 96% of patients indicating they would recommend their provider.

The initial rollout has seen a 75% adoption rate among clinicians, significantly reducing the time spent on documentation. Dr. Terrance Wickman, a nephrologist at Ochsner, highlighted the time-saving benefits, stating, "Before using DeepScribe, I spent at least two to three hours a day preparing for visits and then going back and editing notes based on patient conversations. Now, I have been able to streamline that into three to four minutes per note."

Matthew Ko, DeepScribe COO and co-founder, emphasized the importance of customization, stating, "We have specifically designed the technology so every physician can customize it for how they work and care for patients."

The Palo Alto, California-based DeepScribe, backed by $60 million in funding, continues to expand its platform, aiming to enhance the quality of care by reducing administrative burdens on clinicians.
