CT Technology Breakthroughs Deliver Superior Image Resolution for Better Care
As a worldwide leader in CT technology with a commitment to image quality innovation, Toshiba is highlighting its latest features that improve resolution while keeping radiation dose as low as possible. Toshiba's Forward projected model-based Iterative Reconstruction SoluTion (FIRST), a clinically viable model-based iterative reconstruction technique, is now indicated for imaging of body parts, including cardiac and MSK. FIRST improves image quality with significant noise reduction while lowering radiation dose and drastically cutting the time needed for model-based CT image reconstruction. Toshiba will also showcase its efficient PUREViSION CT detector that results in 40 percent better light output for better use of X-ray photons. PUREViSION technology is available on the entire line of AquilionTM systems, the detector featuring 0.5 mm slices.

Premium CT Technology in a Cost-Effective System with Toshiba's Aquilion Lightning
Combining premium CT technology with the economic advantage of an entry-level system, Toshiba is showcasing its 16-detector row system. The AquilionTM Lightning is ideal for routine volumetric scanning and features the industry's thinnest slices, at 0.5 mm, a wide 78 cm bore and a small installation and cost footprint. With premium features found in high-end Aquilion scanners, including the PUREViSION Detector technology and AIDR 3D Enhanced dose reduction technology, the system ensures customers don't need to compromise quality to meet their business goals, while reducing their total cost of ownership and helping them to meet XR-29 compliance standards. In addition, the inclusion of Adaptive Diagnostics technologies, including Single Energy Metal Artifact Reduction (SEMARTM), and SURESubtractionTM means complex scans are simplified and outcomes are more consistent.

Toshiba Showcases Patient-Friendly PET/CT System
To advance clinical care for its customers, Toshiba's CelesteionTM PET/CT system delivers a more comfortable patient experience with the industry's largest bore at 90 cm, widest field-of-view at 70 cm and time-of-flight imaging. The versatile system combines high-performance PET and CT for all radiation and oncology imaging needs, including tumor detection, treatment evaluation and CT simulation. Ensuring patient safety is not a choice, the Celesteion comes standard with Toshiba's advanced CT dose reduction technology, AIDR 3D, and conforms to the requirements of MITA's XR-29 Smart Dose Standard. As healthcare providers put greater emphasis on patient satisfaction, the Celesteion's numerous patient-friendly features are designed for this new landscape.
