por Brendon Nafziger, DOTmed News Associate Editor | November 10, 2010
Imaging software maker ContextVision said Monday it struck a deal with Shenyang, China-based medical imaging company Neusoft Medical Systems Co. Ltd. to sell some of its software modules and work on integrating ContextVision technology with Neusoft scanners over the next two years. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The Stockholm, Sweden-based company uses so-called GOP algorithms to reduce noise and improve image quality for MRI, X-ray and ultrasound. Its technology is packaged with equipment from various OEMs, the company said.

ContextVision said it would sell Neusoft software modules to its OEM customers during the first year of their collaboration. By early 2012, the two companies hope to launch Neusoft imaging modalities integrated with ContextVision's GOPView technology.

ContextVision CEO Anita Tollstadius said the deal was the first step in a larger plan to expand beyond image enhancement products. She said the company will increase its sales and marketing staff over the next year. After an initial period of investment, the company hopes to see sales growth within the next three years, she said.

"It is a transformational event, providing us with many opportunities, which I am very excited about and happy to be a part of," she said in prepared remarks.
