Los dueños Exes-Barrington lanzan a nueva compañía

por Brendon Nafziger, DOTmed News Associate Editor | November 05, 2010
Like many entrepreneurs, Barrington Medical Imaging LLC. co-founders William Erbes and William Yovic found they couldn't sit still after selling their company to Unisyn Medical Technologies.

So, when their 12-month employment agreement expired in September, they decided to leave and launch a new company. On Oct. 1, Direct Medical Imaging was born.

"We thought it was the right time to sell Barrington, but both of us are pretty entrepreneurial," Erbes, president and owner of the new company, told DOTmed News. "We didn't fit real well in that corporate environment. We get more energy out of building a new business."

Erbes and Yovic sold Barrington Medical Imaging, a CT and MRI service and sales company, to Medical Imaging Holdings, Inc. in September 2009. Medical Imaging Holdings, owned by private equity firm Galen Partners, also acquired Sonora Medical Systems and Echoserve and changed its name to Unisyn Medical Technologies last November.

Erbes' new company, where Yovic will serve as vice president of sales, is based out of Medina, Minn.

Erbes said DMI will focus on sales, rentals and refurbishment of CT and MRI scanners, and partner with Golden, Colo.-based Unisyn on service for the high-end equipment.

The industry veterans, with about half a century of experience between them, are looking forward to working with their customers.

"We hope we can reacquaint with all our old and new friends and customers," Erbes said. "We'll be in touch."
