January 22, 2021 11:46
Hello,
My Acuson X300 takes around 3/4min to get started and get to the main menu because "one of your disks needs to be checked for consistency"
Anyone knows what to do to avoid this stage so it can starts much quickly ?
Thanks

Yes, run the service check disk. Sounds like you might have some bad sectors.

If it were me i would connect the HD to a Laptop and run CkeckDisk and check both boxes Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. or replace the drive and re-install software. Usually this is because the computer is finding bad sectors or inconsistent file structure. Also first make sure the system is being shut down properly. Some systems require ending patient study before shutdown. Should never be powered off by forced shutdown using rear power switch, need to shut down Windows OS normally.

Hi, Julien.
Actually, ACUSON X300 is known for taking a while to finish the boot. Usually, takes 2-3-4 minutes to be fully ready to perform examination.
If it shows the message you related, but it is still working and everything seems to be functioning, it looks you still have time to take some precautions, prior to replace the HDD (or, maybe, replacing it for an SSD, 240 GB would be good).
Press PRESET on the upper part of QWERTY keyboard.
Click on Service, on the menu at left, click on Service, again, over the popped up window. Clear password fields (leave them blank), and click on OK.
Place a blank CD into the ODD, or a flash drive in one of USB ports, and perform a full backup (licenses and presets will be saved into some folders at destination).
Surf on the system to figure out what is the SW version running, and let us know. You'll need to reinstall all over. It's easy and resolves a lot of issues.
Hope this helps, take care, stay safe, God Bless.
Kind regards,
MAC.
