Hello Everybody,
We have Siemens Elegra SSNs 7000 and above. The system doesnt start up.
We didn find any fuse out of order.
There is no Led lit on Distribution board.
The measurments on Power cond BD are:
at +17---we got---0V
at +3.3_int----we got---3.3
at +28--------1.14
at +3.3-------3.5
at +5VD-------0.93
at +5VA-------5.29
at -5----------4.94
at +12---------12.25
at -12---------12.02
at -99---------0
at +99---------0.1
AC is every where. The Main Fan doesnt move. no Les lit on CPU. 100V exist at the out of DC supplier. The fans of the multi-output switcher are moving.
The output of the MOSPS are:
right:
ch1: 5.0v/30A---- we got----5.37
ch02:5.0v/30A---------------5.05
ch03:12.0/17A---------------12.31
ch04:17.0V/12.3A------------17.46
ch05:28.0v/6.0A-------------28.44
left:
Ch1: 5.0/100A-----0.95(but some times I get 5.02V)
ch02:3.3v/30A-----3.58
ch03:12.0V/17A----12.03
We appreciate if anybody has time to help us to troubleshoot this problem. we dont have ASM of this system.
Hi Mohamed,
There is no message on the screen, because the system didnt boot up. the touch panel is not on.
I think it is power supply problem, but i dont know which one, because without load the multi-output switching power supply giving normal measurment, but when i plug them i loose the 5v on ch01 of the left switcher.
I dont know if there is thermal sensor which can switch the power of and stop the fans from running!
there is no power in distribution BD whihc control almost everything.
i would like to know the place of the thermal protection if they are exist in this system, or i get the technical diagrams of the system to be able to follow it up.
1-
about the 17V,it is normal that it is 0 volts.
2-
I have the service manual of the system, plz send me,and it is for free.
mmaee87@hotmail.com
and check all the test points and tell us the result.
Thank you to all of you guys. You are really gentlemen. Special thanks to Mr. Mohamed and Mr. Floyd.
Just to keep you updated:
We have decided to replace the one of the Multi-switching PS(the left one which is with 3 channels), and the result was that: The system without probes worked normally, but with probes we got the error 101001.
we have cheched that all voltage are exist at power condition board.
Sorry I dont have it, I had one before, and i couldnt find it when I needed it, because the system is old, so i think I lost it due to non using for long time :(
This is one of the hardest systems to work on, however I have a lot of experiance with this model. You can call me to discuss at 1-877-891-0084. Floyd
But to assist you further, first try the following:
I need you to try pulling the power condition board out one inch and secure it in position by putting the pull tabs in a position that the board cannot go back into the slot to make contact with the mother board. this removes the card rack from the Pwr supply (load). After it is secured, make all of the those same measurements at the edge on the board facing the back of the system.
So you are missing the +28 and the +5D, right?
But they are available in the bottom at the power supply?
If all of that is true with the power conditioner pulled out of the motherboard then i would think that the power conditioner board is bad.
thanks Floyd for ur helping.
I just want to show some things.
the problems of missing voltages or the wrong voltages on the power conditioner board, that can be from the board itself,or from the switching power supply.
Dear imeng,
r u sure that -12V measures 12.02V?or u mean -12.02?
Hi Floyd,
Thanks alot for your time.
I did more measurment and here the results:
1- every thing is in place, the measurment are above.
2- Remve the Power cond BD:
as result I got +99 volt is 101.5 but 5V and 28V and -99 still missed.
but at multi-output switching PS I am missing 5V at the CH01(5.0V/100A)also.
3- kept the the Power cond BD out:
Unpluged the cables of ch01(5v/100A) than I got:
all voltage except -99, also the DS09 of distribution BD is on(which means all voltages are there).
5V on cho01 still missing.
** 5V of the ch01(5v/100A) i got it only when there is no load on the switching PS.
any interpretation is helpfull!
we forgot this sytem on and we came next day and found it with this problem. is there any thing related to thermal protection, or wrong voltage protection?
Thank you all. I solved the problem by replacing the switching PS. about the error 101001 this means there were problem in the high voltage and I found that -100 was missing due to bad fuse. The system now working perfectly.
Hi Mr Floyd, I am engineer representing The Mother and Child Institute from the Republic of Moldova.Actually our team also have the problem with Ultrasound System Sonoline Elegra regarding Power Supply high voltage 100 V.That is why I will be very grateful if you provide for us the service manual.

I had "cycle power!" during startup...but the fans were running. Problem was in the power conditioning board. Maybe you should try to check it...
