I have finally fixed this problem on my Sequoia C512 and wish to tell you all how I did it in hopes of saving you a big headache when attempting to repair it.
The Sequoia C512 was shutting down hard (would shut off the second you would press the power button) and the screen had a reddish color to it.
I switched the monitor, reset network data, put in new cables, and even switched out the PIC. None of these fixed the red screen issue I was having with this machine.
What DID fix it though was swapping the RDP.
Here's how to access the RDP:
1. Pull the rear RIGHT air filter out.
2. Remove the Philipps screw.
3. Pull off the whole RIGHT panel ( just pop it off)
4. You'll see a metal panel with five screws shutting it. (It'll also have a yellow caution label on the right side of it). Unscrew all the screws and take the panel off to reveal all of the boards.
NOTE: Make sure the machine is turned off and you have grounded yourself (just touch the metal of the machine)
5. The RDP board is on the right-hand side (they're labeled under the boards) and is taken out by lifting the little things on the top and bottom of the board.
6. Either replace it with a new one or take it out of another machine.
Note: If that doesn't work, then replace the system monitor cable. If that doesn't work, replace the monitor. If that doesn't work, replace the PIC.
I'm by no means a service tech in any way. This is how I ended up fixing mine after about 50 hours of troubleshooting. Any color issues such as not seeing any red colors or any other color are usually from a damaged system monitor cable or the monitor itself. The best way to check is to connect the S-VHS cable for the printer to an old monitor to check.
If you have any questions, shoot me an email, and I can try my best to help you out!
