X-ray film processor maintenance

Hi there,
Do you know who supplies a chemical kit for cleaning tanks, rollers, and gears at developing machines with developer, fixer, and water?

White Mountain.
You have to be careful with systems cleaner, the developer systems cleaner is a carcinogen, make sure you wear gloves.
And then use a system neutralizer and be sure to completely rinse the racks, tanks and recirculation lines.

However you don't need that stuff.
I used a soft bristle brush for each section, Developer and Fixer Racks.
A soft sponge for scrubbing the tanks, never use an abrasive like Scotch Brite.
Once you scrub the layer of nickel off stainless it won't be stainless any longer and will rot.

I personally let drain the Processor tanks, and then take each rack out after they have drained.
Soak the developer rack in warm water, not hot, this will free up any old developer. After the rack has soaked for about 10 minutes drain and rinse and scrub the gears with a brush, tooth brush works great here. Use the soft sponge to wipe the rollers.
Do the same for the fixer rack after you have finished with the developer rack.
While you are doing that close the processor drain valves and fill to the fill lines with warm water and turn on the processor and let it recirculate for the time it takes to clean the racks.
Drain the tanks when you have the racks cleaned.
After you clean the fixer rack clean the wash rack.
If your processor has a developer filter be sure to change it.
Kodak processors which I hate have filters.
AGFA processors do not, and mechanically are a better processor in my opine.
Wipe off the top of the tanks and dry with a paper towel.
Close the drain valves, refill the tanks with the appropriate amount of developer and fixer. Be sure to add the proper amount of Developer Starter, not doing so will not properly season the developer and is the final agent to make Developer a Developing solution. And you films will have a lower optical density. Adding only developer will only add developer replenisher, not active strength developer.
Wipe processor feed tray down with screen cleaner.
