Fake Purchase Orders from Fastenal Inc for AEDs, FRAUD ALERT

October 28, 2017 10:19

We recently almost processed an order for New AEDs from what appeared to be the large distribution company Fastenal Inc, only to find out it was an elaborate fraud scam. The perpetrator emailed from an @store-fastenal.com email account and used an actual old PO from Fastenal. All information was correct including Trade References, Bank References, and the Toll Free number actually went to a fake phone tree voicemail. We contacted the actual Fastenal and they are alerted.. and they confirmed the old PO number.. but was for a different amount, and the Shipping address was to a Freight forwarder. This was very planned out Fraud. Beware.. the Fraudsters are trying to buy AED Defibrillators.

We got hit like you, 3 times already; they send fake invoices in our company's name and attach a payment instruction to bank accounts in : NY, GA and MI. Finally found out they're from Nigeria.
Buyers please CALL to listed phone number on Dotmed to verbally confirm legitimate purchases and sellers. They usually aim at customers you exchange emails with previously.
