Jackson Hospital, a 344-bed, not-for-profit facility in Montgomery, Alabama, has expanded its partnership with Medline to designate the company as its primary supplier for environmental services (EVS) products.
This new agreement builds on a nine-year relationship in which Medline has served as Jackson Hospital’s main vendor for medical-surgical supplies.
Through this partnership, Medline will deliver a range of EVS products aimed at enhancing hospital cleanliness, safety, and efficiency. Jackson Hospital staff will have access to Medline’s online platform, which provides real-time updates on product availability and facilitates seamless ordering and inventory tracking. This digital interface is intended to streamline supply management, allowing healthcare workers to focus on patient care.
According to Mark Yarema, director of materials management at Jackson Hospital, Medline’s commitment to consistent delivery, even during severe weather events, has fostered a deep level of trust. “Medline has been a reliable partner through thick and thin,” Yarema said. “Their dependability gives us confidence that we’ll remain fully stocked, no matter the challenges. This trust is key to our ongoing relationship, and we look forward to expanding our partnership with Medline.”
The partnership is expected to provide cost benefits through Medline’s manufacturer-direct pricing and reduced distribution fees, along with savings from inventory standardization. This standardization process will reduce the number of stock-keeping units (SKUs), lower the risk of product expirations, and enable Jackson Hospital to purchase in bulk at reduced rates. This approach also aims to simplify training for EVS staff, contributing to consistent operational practices across the hospital.
Tyler Windham, division sales manager for Medline, expressed enthusiasm about the expanded collaboration, noting, “This new EVS portion of business allows us to continue driving value and improving outcomes by helping to ensure that the hospital’s environment is clean, safe and conducive to healing.”
Jackson Hospital has served the Montgomery and Alabama River Region for more than 75 years, providing a wide array of services, including cardiac, cancer, and emergency care.
