Intelerad debuts new enterprise imaging workflow orchestration solution

por Lisa Chamoff , Contributing Reporter
Intelerad Medical Systems has released a new enterprise imaging workflow orchestration solution designed to seamlessly coordinate a variety of systems across a large network of healthcare providers.

The company debuted the product, called the InteleOne Maestro, at the SIIM annual meeting in Maryland’s National Harbor.

THE (LEADER) IN MEDICAL IMAGING TECHNOLOGY SINCE 1982. SALES-SERVICE-REPAIR

Including order and image management, workflow automation and diagnostic acceleration, the InteleOne Maestro solution orchestrates the entire workflow and automates the tasks that used to be done manually. This includes the assignment of studies based on a set of criteria that each healthcare system can define, such as subspecialty, credentialing and physician preference, Helene Gey, vice president of marketing at Intelerad, told HCB News.

“Different healthcare providers have different approaches on how they want to manage and distribute their workload,” Gey said. “Some of them have different models for the daytime and the after-hours time. So, the solution allows them to really optimize and automate the management of all that, from the order management to the diagnostic assignment and the distribution to the physicians of the reports.”

One unique aspect of the system is that radiologists can take a snapshot of the hanging protocols – how they would like the images to be displayed – and have it laid out the same way each time they read an exam, so they don’t need to make time-consuming changes each time, Gey said.

The system also automatically looks for prior exams in the health system.

“I think it removes the burden on the radiologist to think about what they should read in what order and where to go find information,” Gey said. “The radiologists are really freed up to focus on the diagnostics and the interpretation, which is their role.”

Dr. David Miller, the chief medical informatics officer at South Jersey Radiology Associates in New Jersey, said in a statement announcing the release of the InteleOne Maestro that using Intelerad’s Assignment Engine allows the organization to read the same study volume using 8 to 10 percent fewer radiologists.

“It also facilitates having studies interpreted at a different site than where the scan took place,” Miller said. “This allows subspecialty exams to be read quicker and eliminates the time that radiologists spend waiting between studies.”
