Washington, D.C. - The Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA) today announced that Terri Wilson has joined the organization as Director of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) Industry Policy. In this role, Wilson will lead both the MITA PET Group and the MITA Molecular Imaging Section.
"PET is an immensely valuable technology, used to evaluate a wide variety of conditions from neurological diseases to cancer to heart disease, and to assess the effectiveness of treatments," said Gail Rodriguez, executive director of MITA. "Terri's intricate understanding of the many applications of this imaging modality will ensure that its value is communicated effectively to key policymakers and regulators."

Prior to joining MITA, Wilson held various roles within the nuclear medicine and PET community, most recently as Director of Coverage and Payment Policy for Cardinal Health. She began her career as a technologist in a community hospital in Columbia, MO, before opening and managing a free-standing PET facility. She then spent several years in sales for both radiopharmaceuticals and PET/computed tomography (CT) scanners with Siemens and PETNET Solutions before transitioning to radiopharmaceutical product management and reimbursement. During this time, she also served as MITA's PET Coverage Committee chair and, through the committee's work, helped improve the National Coverage Determination for PET imaging.
Wilson holds a B.S. in Nuclear Medicine from the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO and an M.B.A. with a focus on pharmaceutical marketing from St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA.
