Group purchasing organization Novation has awarded agreements for CR systems to a quartet of device manufacturers.
Agfa Healthcare, Carestream Health, Fujifilm USA and Konica Minolta all received three-year awards as CR suppliers for Novation's thousands of member hospitals and health care facilities.
Products covered include Carestream's DirectView Elite, Classic and Max; Agfa's CR 30, 35 and 85; Fujifilm's FCR XG5000 and FCR Profect CS; and Konica Minolta's Regius and ImagePilot lines, a Novation rep told DOTmed News by email.
In a statement, Mike Clemens, vice president, capital equipment and diagnostic imaging for Novation, said the agreements represent price savings 8 to 24 percent below market pricing. "Specialized value" is also available to those in certain supply networks or facilities that qualify as academic medical centers, a Novation rep said.
The agreements, which start in May and last until April 30, 2015, come with two one-year extension options, Novation said.
Novation, based in in Irving, Texas, said it does supply contracting for nearly 65,000 VHA and UHC members and Provista customers. Last year, these groups bought almost $40 billion worth of goods through the GPO's contracts.
