Thomas Freund has joined the board of the International Association of Medical Equipment Remarketers and Servicers as the new ethics chair, DOTmed News has learned.
Freund, 45, the general manager of MRI service business Oxford Instruments, will be responsible for ensuring IAMERS members follow the group's ethical guidelines. The ethics committee, which he heads, handles the development and enforcement of ethical practices within the industry and for its members.

"I am honored to be a member of this professional organization as there is a great need in the marketplace for this type of regulating organization," Freund told DOTmed News.
An engineer by training, Freund joined IAMERS a little over a year ago, but he has been in the medical equipment industry for almost two and a half decades. He first got his start at Oxford in 1986, entering as a senior test technician. He was named
general manager in November 2009.
