El software de Hyland compra a grupo de CSC

Document management company Hyland Software Inc. said Friday it would buy closely held sales management and ultrasound reporting business Computer Systems Company, Inc. for an undisclosed amount.

Cleveland-based Hyland makes OnBase, a software suite that helps digitize and manage documents. The nearly half-century old, Strongsville, Ohio-based CSC Group sells R4 Acert, an ultrasound image management platform, and Papers, a revenue cycle management program.

"Like us, The CSC Group team has successfully been battling paper and process problems for decades," Hyland's president and CEO A.J. Hyland said in prepared remarks. "Joining forces is going to benefit our customers for years to come."

The purchase is the second this month for Hyland. On Sept. 1, it announced it would buy Hershey Systems of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., a document management firm that sells to colleges and universities.

Hyland is backed by Thoma Bravo LLC, a Chicago private equity firm whose stated business model is to use "platform" companies to buy other businesses in the field.
