Olympus Corporation has entered a global partnership with health technology company Proximie to integrate advanced digital solutions into operating rooms worldwide.

Olympus aims to enhance clinical collaboration by offering Proximie’s cloud-based platform, which enables real-time video, audio, and imaging sharing for remote consulting and teaching opportunities in surgery.

The Proximie platform is designed to connect physicians, surgeons, and students across regions, promoting continuous learning and improved operational practices in ORs. The company’s device-agnostic technology enables seamless integration with existing equipment, allowing hospitals to facilitate training sessions and remote consultations in real-time from any device.

Key features of the platform include high-definition, low-latency video feeds, annotation tools, chat, and screen sharing, as well as tablet control and multisource video connectivity.

“We’re thrilled to join forces with Proximie to provide our customers with a top-tier digital health platform including telecollaboration capabilities,” said Engin Demirel, global head of commercialization endoscopy solutions ecosystem at Olympus. “This partnership will help break down learning barriers and provide healthcare professionals with access to the knowledge needed to enhance patient care and outcomes.”

The partnership aligns with Olympus’ mission to support healthcare providers through innovative digital solutions, adding telecollaboration as a core offering in its OR ecosystem. In North America, the collaboration is structured as a preferred partnership, indicating prioritized integration and support within the U.S. and Canada.
