Point-of-care ultrasound developer Mindray has released its latest solution, the TE9, which is equipped with the industry’s first Auto GA (Gastric Antrum).
Auto GA aids clinicians in assessing gastric content by automatically identifying the edge of the gastric antrum, the smaller distal part of the stomach, and measuring its area with a single screen tap. This information is expected to help decide which surgical procedures are appropriate for individual patients.
With this and its other tools, the TE9 is expected to enhance imaging capabilities for anesthesia, emergency, and critical care applications. “The new TE9 is equipped with a host of features designed to expand Point-of-Care ultrasound solutions and meet evolving clinical needs," said Xujin He, general manager of the medical imaging system business unit at Mindray, in a statement.
In addition to Auto GA, TE9 comes with a large 21.5-inch high-definition touch screen as well as top-quality imaging and transducer technology for quick and precise diagnoses. It also offers automation capabilities like Smart IVC to help clinicians evaluate and collect reproducible measurements of patients at their bedside, in the OR or when they are on the move.
Among its tools is the eSpacial Navi, a 4D magnetic needle navigation technology that allows users to better visualize and confirm the correct location for needles during in-plane and out-of-plane procedures. Another related feature is iNeedle, which increases needle visibility, even during steep-angled operations, to also confirm correct needle placement while minimizing the risk of harm to surrounding tissues.
TE9 can also be used to dictate hands-free instructions through its iVocal voice command to speed up response times. It can additionally connect to hospital networks via the eGateway Integration Solution, an informatics solution designed to link up networked Mindray clinical solutions with hospitals ADT, CIS, EMR and alarm management systems. This allows clinicians to easily and securely access patient data and send exam information, images and reports to the EMR system, thereby eliminating manual transcription errors and streamlining decision-making for better workflow and productivity.
Earlier this summer, Mindray debuted
another ultrasound system, Resona I9, for complex clinical scenarios in general imaging. It also, last month, entered into a partnership with Probo Medical, which will sell a range of its ultrasound imaging solutions
, from entry-level black-and-white systems like Mindray’s Resona 7 system, to advanced cart-based and touch-enabled solutions embedded with AI-enabled technologies such as the TE7 Portable Ultrasound Machine.
