Tony Scott, Microsoft Corporate VP and Chief Information Officer, was confirmed as closing day, September 2, keynote speaker of Microsoft Health Users Group Exchange 2009. Scott will share his vision with active and engaged users of the company's healthcare software products on Wednesday, September 2, 2009, at the Microsoft Corporate Campus in Redmond, WA.

Formerly known as Microsoft HUG Tech Forum, the event offers attendees an inside glimpse of Microsoft and insight into upcoming Microsoft healthcare technologies. The experts behind Microsoft's product development will demonstrate the latest tools, resources and solutions for building next generation applications.

The conference will feature two days of networking, examples of healthcare IT best practices and educational sessions focused on Microsoft's IT solutions for the healthcare industry.

Tony Scott joined Microsoft Corp. in February 2008 as corporate vice president and chief information officer (CIO). Under his leadership, Microsoft IT is responsible for security, infrastructure, messaging and business applications for all of Microsoft, including support of the product groups, the corporate business groups, and the global sales and marketing organization. Scott champions IT as a value-added business for Microsoft and works with all the company's groups to identify opportunities, structure IT solutions and deliver measurable returns to the business.

Chair of the Microsoft Health Users Group and Chief Technology Officer at Ultman Health Foundation, Thomas Mackey said, "We are so pleased to have Mr. Scott on our program. "His insight on Microsoft's healthcare technology solutions will give attendees valuable information to use once they return to their own healthcare settings."

The Microsoft Health Users Group unified with the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) as part of the HIMSS Users Group Alliance Program in October 2003. The unification strengthens the commitment of HIMSS and the Microsoft Health Users Group to better serve their members and the industry through a shared strategic vision to provide leadership and healthcare information technology solutions that improve the delivery of patient care.
