T-Systems, Inc.
In response to the 2009 Swine Flu outbreak, T-System, Inc., the nation's largest provider of emergency department (ED) clinical documentation solutions, today announced the release of free downloadable charting templates with updated information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for testing and treatment of Swine Flu.

T-System, which will monitor changes made to CDC diagnosis and treatment guidelines and update the tool set accordingly, has included three classes of charts in the download (physician, nurse and order sets) and is currently developing a pediatric set, available this week. The charts and guidelines have been made available to all providers free of charge.

"Over the past 48 hours alone, the CDC has made 12 changes to the interim Swine Flu guidelines, so information is changing extremely fast," said Suzette Weir-Thorby RN, senior vice president and chief nursing officer for T-System. "T-System is offering these charts free of charge to provide healthcare professionals with critical patient documentation tools, integrating the CDC's most up-to-date data on testing, diagnosis and treatment of Swine Flu. As we learn of new updates, these free templates will be updated as well."

T-System clinical documentation solutions are currently used by nearly half of all U.S. emergency departments (more than 1,700 facilities). The company is releasing the templates free and universally for all healthcare professionals in the interest of public health and safety.

The Swine Flu T-Sheets are point-of-care tools to support consistent documentation, diagnosis and treatment for the remainder of the Swine Flu alert and are not intended to replace clinical judgment. As of Thursday, April 30, the CDC has reported 109 confirmed Swine Flu cases from 11 U.S states.
