SATRO 11 Conference Coming May 14-15

by Joan Trombetti, Writer | April 15, 2009
The Southern Association of Therapeutic Radiation Oncology, (SATRO) will hold its SATRO 11 Conference on May 14-15, in Savannah. The program will offer 16 sessions, including four general sessions, 10 breakouts and two networking sessions. Networking time slots, facilitated by SATRO officers, have been added this year to increase everyone's chances of interacting with similarly situated attendees, for those in either hospital or freestanding settings.

Along with presentations by the preeminent billing and coding consultants in radiation oncology, a consultant panel will once again be available to answer submitted and contemporaneous questions. Billing and coding presentations will include: "Specialty Coding: SRS and HDR Procedures," "Coding Essentials for the Administrator," Compliance Goals for Radiation Oncology," "Managing Modifiers," "The Art of the Audit," MACS, RACs & Self-Help Tips," and "Coding for IGRT Procedures."

The keynote speaker will be Richard Wild, M.D., J.D., MBA and Chief Medical Officer for CMS Region IV, which covers eight southern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, North and South Carolina and Tennessee. He will provide updates on CMS value-based purchasing, such as PQRI and e-prescribing, possible changes in the payment of physician services and discuss some of the recent health care proposals from the Obama administration.
