DMS Health Technologies has acquired Advanced Imaging Management, expanding its mobile scanning reach within the U.S.
DMS provides hospitals and health systems in the U.S. and Canada with one of the largest fleets of mobile MR, CT, PET/CT, digital PET/CT and nuclear medicine systems in North America. It also is one of the first mobile digital mammography providers, and offers portable digital ultrasound system and dual-energy bone densitometry unit services as well.
DMS is based in West Fargo, North Dakota, while AIM is outside of Houston, Texas, where it manages mobile MR, CT, and ultrasound systems.

"AIM’s footprint matches up with our DMS national footprint — particularly in the south, southwest and Midwest, and it opens up opportunities to meet growing demand we’re seeing in the south and southeast. AIM expands the DMS national fleet of MR and US units, giving us more than 100 trailers and systems including MR, CT, PET/CT, digital PET/CT, nuclear medicine, 3D mammography and more," DMS CEO Patrick Doyle told HCB News.
DMS will retain all AIM employees, and there will be no changes in the care or services their customers receive.
While the assets will be rebranded as DMS, AIM will continue on as a channel partner for key accounts and future opportunities.
The deal comes exactly one year after DMS’
acquisition of Nuclear Sonics Associates, which provided nuclear medicine services in Iowa. DMS said the acquisition would allow it to meet greater demands for applications in cardiology and general studies, while expanding its Midwestern footprint.
It also recently added several state-of-the-art digital PET/CT units, making it among the first in the U.S. to have this technology.
DMS completed the asset purchase of AIM on March 1, in which the latter’s employees immediately became part of the former and all contracts, services and care were automatically transferred to it.
“We found that [being] with DMS, and becoming part of their national fleet, creates exciting new opportunities for our employees and customers,” said AIM CEO Lynn Williams in a statement.
No financial details were disclosed.
