Medifico Targeting Vital Brain Disorder Treatment

by Joan Trombetti, Writer | April 15, 2008
A new company is born
Medifico, a new medical equipment firm has launched its life-saving Brainvue TCD that will offer hope for U.S. communities in need.

Medifico's focus is providing under-served U.S. communities with badly needed technologically advanced medical equipment and has announced the launch of the Brainvue-TCDT 1000. This device utilizes advanced ultrasound technology to non-invasively measure blood flow in the brain. It is designed to aid in the diagnosis, prevention, intervention and treatment of strokes, migraines, concussions, Sickle Cell disease and detection of holes between the chambers of the heart, as well as other neurological disorders.

According to Bill Medina, Medifico founder and president, the Brain Attack Coalition, a division of NINDS (the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke) has emphasized the great need for brain imaging equipment in U.S. hospitals and medical offices where these units are not financially feasible. Now, Medifico will make it possible for many of these medical facilities to gain access to this vital equipment under very favorable terms.

The Brainvue-TCD 1000 is a portable, hand-held, battery-operated unit that can also be used for soldiers on the battlefield, as well as athletes prone to head injuries. For instance, it can help determine whether or not a player suffering from a concussion can return to the playing field.
