The share risk put the company at the top of the German blue-chip index. Siemens expects annual comparable revenue growth from Varian to rise from 5% to 7% for 2022 to 6% to 8% between 2023 and 2025. This excludes revenue from COVID-19 tests. Earnings per share would rise 12% to 15% each year during this same period and exceed mid-to-high single-digit predictions for the company’s imaging, diagnostics and advanced therapies divisions. Its dividend policy to distribute 50%-60% of the net income would remain unchanged.

The acquisition and growth of Varian are part of Siemens Healthineers' strategy for 2025, an initiative that it calls New Ambition. The aim is to make advanced healthcare technologies for the care of patients and efficient running of healthcare facilities. It also involves having a consistent financial framework based on innovation and growth, fostering profitability, strengthening financial soundness and focused capital allocation.

"At the core of New Ambition are our unique capabilities, which we keep strengthening every day: patient twinning, precision therapy, and digital, data, and AI. These capabilities will enable us in transforming healthcare for the better in fighting the most threatening diseases, enabling efficient operations and expanding access to care. We pioneer breakthroughs in healthcare," said Montag.
