ATLANTA, July 21, 2020 /PRNewswire/ -- West Physics Consulting, LLC ("West Physics"), the leading national provider of integrated medical and health physics services, announced today that it has completed the purchase of Radiological Physics Consultants ("RPC"), a highly-respected regional medical physics company based in Winston-Salem, NC.

RPC has been led since its formation in 1980 by founder and President Robert Dixon, Ph.D, FACR, a leader in the medical physics space who, among other roles, served as a past President of the AAPM (American Association of Medical Physics) and is the author of many scientific articles and publications in the field.

"The purchase of RPC will complement West Physics' current customer base in the Southeast, allowing us to provide enhanced services to both RPC and West Physics customers by combining the strengths and resources of the two organizations," stated Dr. Geoffrey West, President & Chief Medical Physicist of West Physics. "The acquisition of RPC provides a major growth opportunity for us by bringing into West Physics a highly experienced technical and administrative staff with deep relationships at over 350 of the most respected healthcare facilities in North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. For RPC customers, the stability and support of the nation's leading medical and health physics provider will provide access to a variety of enhanced service offerings and increased scheduling flexibility," Dr. West concluded.

"The decision to join forces with West Physics will allow RPC to have access to additional organizational resources and highly-trained staff that RPC can use to improve the services we already perform. The expanded training and development resources will allow our staff take their expertise and skills to the next level, which helps us as well as our clients," stated Dr. Dixon. Together we can leverage greater technical collaboration to innovate and improve the services we provide to our valued clients."

The acquisition of RPC is a continuation of West Physics' strategy to deliver the highest-quality and most cost-effective medical and health physics services to customers throughout the U.S. and beyond. With the acquisition complete, West Physics will now employ a staff of over 80 professionals supporting over 3,800 customer locations in all 50 U.S. states, multiple federal territories, the Caribbean and the Middle East, making it the largest diagnostic medical physics practice in the United States.
