Siemens Healthineers is moving its ultrasound business headquarters from California to Washington state.
Siemens Healthineers has found a new home for its ultrasound headquarters in Washington state.

The German healthcare giant has moved its ultrasound business from its previous location in Mountain View, California to Issaquah, where it plans to complete high-level assembly of its ultra premium ACUSON Sequoia ultrasound system with the capability of supporting other products in its portfolio. It also plans to supplement its existing overseas manufacturing operations at the site.

“Establishing manufacturing capacity will benefit our customers through enhanced responsiveness, additional production flexibility and improved order-to-customer-delivery time,” said Bob Thompson, head of ultrasound at Siemens Healthineers in a statement. “Moving the headquarters to Issaquah is an important step in the growth and evolution of our Ultrasound business, and an opportunity to expand solutions to deliver precision Medicine.”

Launched in 2018, the Acuson Sequoia is equipped with a Deep Abdominal Transducer and high-powered architecture that enables it to image patients of different sizes with consistency and accuracy.

The two story site in Issaquah recently underwent renovations. This, along with the addition of Siemens’ manufacturing operations, is expected to help the company maintain its strong foothold in the region, where it first set up shop in 1993. It currently employs more than 300 individuals in Issaquah.

The Silicon Valley office in Mountain View remains in operation and will become a satellite office to continue leveraging local talent.
