BOSTON — Cerveau Technologies Inc. today announced a licensing agreement with Alector, in which Cerveau will provide its investigational imaging agent (MK-6240) to Alector for use in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans to assess the status and progression of neurofibrillary tangles (NFTs) in the brain. NFTs, made up of aggregated tau protein, are a hallmark of several neurodegenerative diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Alector is a clinical stage biotechnology company pioneering immuno-neurology, a novel therapeutic approach for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, including two Alzheimer’s disease programs currently in the clinic. The collaboration is focused on using MK-6240 as an exploratory biomarker in Alector’s research studies.
