AAMI is hosting its second annual HTM Shark Tank during the AAMI Exchange, the association’s growing and revamped annual conference and expo, which will be held June 7–10 in Cleveland, OH. The event, modeled after ABC's Shark Tank series, will pit innovative ideas for advancing the healthcare technology management (HTM) field against each other to see if they sink or swim.

“I love the HTM Shark Tank event since it gives participants the opportunity to share their unique ideas about how to better the field,” said Danielle McGeary, AAMI's vice president of HTM. “We at AAMI do not always have all the answers, and sometimes these ideas end up becoming catalysts for new, innovative projects.”

To participate, submit your idea for strengthening the HTM field by April 8. Four finalists will then be selected to pitch their ideas live on stage at the AAMI Exchange on June 9 and answer questions from the “sharks,” who are leading HTM professionals.

There are no restrictions on what you can propose. For example, you could pitch a project for AAMI to tackle, recommend a new role for The Joint Commission, suggest a clever way to attract more professionals to the HTM field, introduce new HTM responsibilities or requirements, or describe a much-needed training course.

Selected individuals must be available to present their idea in person at the AAMI Exchange. AAMI does not cover travel costs for this session.

AAMI is a nonprofit organization founded in 1967. It is a diverse community of approximately 7,000 healthcare technology professionals united by one important mission—supporting the healthcare community in the development, management, and use of safe and effective healthcare technology.
