ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--HIMSS19 Booth #1533 – Ascom, the leading global healthcare Information and Communication Technology (ICT) provider, announced at HIMSS19 that its Digistat® software suite, including Digistat® Connect, Digistat® Smart Central and Digistat® Smart Central Mobile, are now available for sale in the U.S. Digistat Smart Central and Digistat Smart Central Mobile were cleared by the FDA for sale in the U.S. as class II, 510(k) devices for use with patient monitors, infusion pumps and ventilators.

Already in use in prestigious European hospitals such as Saint Joan de Déu Hospital in Spain, Policlinico Gemelli in Italy and Hopital Argenteuil in France among many others, Ascom Digistat Connect software continuously acquires clinical data, alarms and events from medical devices such as patient monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps in near real-time and creates a common, standard, automatic data stream that feeds a single source of clinical patient data to the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and hospital information systems. Device and vendor neutral and scalable from single departments to multiple hospitals, Digistat Connect’s modular architecture and interoperability with hundreds of medical devices ensures automatic and objective patient data documentation and detailed vital signs collection that saves time, avoids transcription errors, and serves as a unique source of clinical information for all hospital IT systems, including a Device Log for alarms and user actions.

To simplify Medical Device Integration (MDI), Digistat Connect offers a variety of workflow orchestration use cases with the Ascom Healthcare Platform, such as the new Ascom Telligence® 6 patient response system. Digistat Connect, working in concert with Telligence, enables semiautomatic collection and recording of vital parameters at the bedside, helping to reduce errors. When the nurse receives a notification to take vitals, which are automatically collected using Telligence MDI modules, they can simply validate the vitals at the Telligence TelliConnect station in the room before they are stored in the EHR.
