From the May 2017 issue of HealthCare Business News magazine

HCB News: What percentage of your membership is international?
PN:
Between 10 and 15 percent.

HCB News: Have you heard any concerns by international members planning to attend the annual conference?
PN:
We have members on our committees who will not be able to attend our meeting. They are volunteers that contribute to our society. I am saddened they cannot take part in our conference.

HCB News: Are there enough imaging informatics professionals working today? Is that trending up or down? Are there locations impacted more than others?
PN:
I believe it is trending up. SIIM membership has grown by double digits in the past three years.

HCB News: Any other news of note you’d like to share?
PN:
Our big news is that our amazing executive director of 22 years is retiring. There is a search committee actively in the process of finding a successor. We are fortunate to have our new strategic plan to help inform the new executive director on the direction of our society. It is a great recruiting aid.
