The GBIS 2012 Conference
is Aug. 17-18, in Atlanta, GA

The Georgia Biomedical Instrumentation Society (GBIS) is holding their Annual Technical Conference this August 17th & 18th at the Wellstar Development Center in Atlanta, GA.
Michael Chisholm of
The Joint Commission

The featured speaker this year is Michael Chisholm of The Joint Commission. Mr Chisholm is an Engineer in the Department of Engineering at TJC. Prior to that, he spent four years as a Life Safety Code Specialist surveying for The Joint Commission in 2004, and he has fifteen years' experience in Facilities Management, and ten in management positions.

Horace Hunter, Executive Director of the GBIS, said, "The Joint Commission is well-known for its pivotal role in helping to maintain and raise the level of healthcare services in America, and we are always delighted to have one of their representatives address our membership. And I am as interested as everyone to hear what he has to say on the CMS's ruling on PMs -- that's creating quite a buzz in the biomedical community."

In addition to Mr. Chisholm, there will be a representative from the AAMI Technical Management Council who will make a presentation at the GBIS Conference.

Educational sessions will be held throughout the 2-day event, including a BMET Certification Review, and classes on Ultrasound and Anesthesia service.

And as always, the attendees will have a chance to meet with vendors in the Exhibit Hall and get a first-hand look at their new products and services. Mr. Hunter says there are a few exhibit locations still open for any companies still wishing to exhibit.

Go to The GBIS website for more information and to register to attend the event; articipation fees are nominal.
