Riverain Medical, a Miamisburg, Ohio-based computer-aided detection and advanced visualization technologies company, announced the establishment of a new advisory board Monday.

The nine-member board will advise the company on product development. Radiology, oncology, diagnostics and health care administration experts will serve on Riverain's board. The members will offer insight on commercializing and enhancing the company's two products, as well as the development of new offerings from the company.

"We're excited to collaborate with such a distinguished group of scientific, medical and business leaders who are committed to helping Riverain Medical achieve our goal of developing products that save lives through the early detection of disease," said Diane Hirakawa, CEO and chairwoman of Riverain Medical, in prepared remarks. "Each member will play a key role in the growth of Riverain and its contribution to the rapidly evolving field of diagnostic imaging technology."

Members of the board include Dr. George Blumenschein, associate professor of medicine, thoracic/head and neck medical oncology with the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center; Dr. Lynn Broderick, professor, department of radiology, with the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Dr. Benjamin Edinger, diagnostic radiologist with the Clinton, Maryland-based Radiology Imaging Associates; Dr. Heber MacMahon, professor of radiology and chief of thoracic imaging with the University of Chicago; Lynn McVey, senior managing partner of Imaging Fusion; Jeff Palmucci, partner of Imaging Fusion; Dr. Cullen Ruff, assistant professor of radiology with Virginia Commonwealth University; Dr. Cornelia Schaefer-Prokop, associate professor of radiology with Academic Medical Center, Amsterdam; Dr. Charles White, professor of radiology and medicine, vice chairman, and chief of thoracic radiology with the University of Maryland Medical Center.
