Five Minutes in Healthcare is where I discuss current events with some of the industry's most influential leaders, as well as innovative thinkers who are working to meet the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic.

Over the last week I have had the pleasure of speaking to Manuel Iglesias and Dan Vukelich.

In the following installment, I check in with Manuel Iglesias, president of Medi-Scan, about how his company's software is allowing for 2D and 3D ultrasound imaging on location. They had been focused on soft tissue and tendon imaging for sports medicine when COVID-19 hit and the technology's potential took on new meaning for patient triage.

In this installment, I check back in with Dan Vukelich, president of the Association of Medical Device Reprocessors (AMDR), regarding the role reprocessing can play in reducing healthcare's carbon footprint, which is currently responsible for almost 4.6% of global greenhouse gas emissions.

The last time I spoke to Dan, we talked about the untapped potential for reprocessing in healthcare, how COVID-19 has highlighted those benefits, and what factors stand in the way of increased reprocessing.

We hope you enjoy the videos. Please tell us what you think, and let us know who you would like to see interviewed next!
